- 2006 Explorer Limted V8
Everytime I'm driving down the road, I always see another 2nd generation Explorer and I always look for the V8 AWD rubber emblem on the fender.
So far I've only seen a couple. Anyone know the percentage of Explorers that were built with this drivetrain? Do I own a "rare" vehicle? Or did the cash for clunkers claim all the V8 Explorers?
Considering the original window sticker said my Explorer sold for $31,000. I figured this would have been a hard sell for any vehicle in 1996.
Another question, I saw a 2nd gen Explorer at Wal-Mart the other day and it had an emblem on the rear that said "Control trac". What is that? Is this like a limitied slip rear differential that was an option on the 90s Jeep Wranglers?
