How much would you pay to run the X?

Let's say gas prices stay high after the summer is over, at least through the end of the year.

What would be the highest price per gallon you'd consistently pay before giving up the Explorer for something with better mileage?

Prices here are currently ~$2.23/gal for 87 unleaded.

currently its about $2.00 a gallon

i can't afford to pay more than $2.20 or so...

Well... I sold my Navajo and bought a 1976 Chevy K10 w/ a 350. Gas prices in cali are like 2.25 for regular so I am loving it. I am currently selling the truck though.

I guess since I'm going SAS, I'm pretty much in for the long haul, whatever it costs.

If I have to I'll get something smaller to knock around in and keep the X.

I wouldn't say I'll pay anything but close to it. It's my only means of transportation. If it gets to $4.00 I will start considering getting a 600cc bike.

I'm not giving up my Explorer no matter what, and when this one dies, I'm getting another one. With my messed up knees, I have a lot of trouble getting in and out of cars because they are too low to the ground

I WONT consistently pay anything over $2.00. Hopefully these insane prices are here only for the summer. Currently I'm paying $1.83/ gal for 87.

I did not by the explorer based on its fuel economy, it can go the places I wander and that's what matters. No economy car will get there! I have tried.

If it gets to be to big of an impact on my finances. I'll get off my butt and rebuild the gf's Tracer engine.
It'll due for city traffic and work.
The X will do for the wooded path's and my personal driving.
And the Kia can go the long distances.
Works for me.

no longer have the X, but i dont have another car... so i will pay antyhign to keep the toyota getting me around... if i wont drive it because it cost too much, i wont have to worry, because i wont have a job anymore....

Makes no diff to me what gas costs, being self employed with the tax deduction, am paying about $1.30 per gal

Whatever it costs. I'm paying $2.41 for 92, and it's stayed that price for a couple weeks now. I just hope it goes back down to $1.80 though. I notice when the gas prices rise tremendously every year, they never make it back down to what they were before that rise.

i dont like gas prices at all but i will continue to drivethe "X" no matter what. I like it too much, i may just drive less though. Currently we are paying 85cents/liter. not sure what that is in gallons, but it is too damn much

I had to vote anything since I last filled up at .98/litre (premium) which works out to about 2.76U.S./Gal and at .85/litre it's about 2.40U.S./Gal.
