i have 4 brand new cooper discoverer H/Ts, stickers still on em, not even an inch on them yet. i was thinking about selling them and getting some 17 or 18 inch rims instead. theyre 255/70r/16s. i got them for really cheap (150 for all of them) so no matter what i plan on making a profit but i want to get enough for a solid set of rims and tires (used ofcourse). so what do you guys think would be a fair price? theyre about 120 each on the internet

They may go for over $100 MSRP, but Coopers aren't very high end tires, so they usually sell below that.
I doubt you'll get enough for them to buy a set of 17's or 18's, let alone a set with tires, but you might find someone who's selling their factory rims off another Explorer or Sport Trac or something.
I'd say post the tires on Craigslist or put some ads up around town. Maybe start at $300-350 but be prepared to wheel and deal down to a lower price. You might be holding onto them for awhile before you get a serious buyer.
