Yeah, so today, me Lizard and Namitey were out doing some wheeling (well, just Namitey's and my truck since Lizards working on the SFA) and we run out to Paragon to play a bit and to test out my new locker and we take on Whompum Hill.

Now the last time I was at Paragon, I made it up Whompum with open diffs and figured it should be easier with the locker in there. That would be the case if the ground wasn't frozen. So I give it a try and get to where my front wheels are over the top, but it's iced up so I'm getting no traction and I have to get on the brakes and I back down slightly. Now I'm sitting up there with Lizard and I think to myself, "well, I'll just put the parking brake on and hop out to see what's holding me up" (at this point I didn't know about the ice) Well, with the parking brake applied the truck wants to slide backwards, so I decide to turn the motor off and leave it in gear....what a stupid F*%#$ing idea. That doesn't work and the truck want's to slide. So what I should do is start the truck up, put my foot on the brake, and release the parking brake, but mixed up the order. I put my foot on the brake, released the parking brake and then was going to start the motor.....well the motors gotta be running to give the brakes braking power right? Of course, so as soon as I pop the E brake the truck just starts accelerating down the hill....backwards, and the key's out of the ignition and I can't get them in there to start it, so now were still accelerating, I don't have time to even look behind me to steer or avoid the rocks or anything so right at the end, before I go crashing into Namitys truck I kick the e-brake and we come to a screeching halt.....scared $#!tless.

The best part....we got it on video and it's already posted on Lizard's site. So head over to

www.extremexplorers.com

and check out the link for the video of me being an idiot and then me explaining how I'm an idiot.

Man you're lucky.....I like how the video is caled "Death.mpg" :D

Never, ever, turn poff the truck on a hill. I understand why you thought you could, but it was a very bad idea:(

It still makes one cool video...

I just wasn't thinking, it was all really stupid in hindsight, but hey, it sure was fun once we realized that we lived and didn't break anything major.

Holy crap.. u were going fast down that hill.. good thing nobody got hurt..

DAMN SNOW!!!

Good to see noone got hurt. That could have been much worse.

Remember that with the 95+ T-case, as soon as you turn off the truck, you're in 2wd. I know this from my own experience. . .and I wasn't even in the truck at the time

Holy crap! So you ran into the other truck and that pushed it back out of the video?

Man glad nobody was hurt or broken.

Thats one of those, I'll never do that again!

Like after I did my auto conversion I was under the truck trying to figure out how to fix my shift linkage, on a friends driveway on a creeper. The driveway is slightly slanted, and what do I do? I reach uyp and grab the shift linkage popping the truck out of park. I rolled on the creeper backl about 10' between the front and rear wheels (sticking out) thankfully my buddy Dave ran down, hopped in and hit the brake, if I had gotten to the curn the truck would have smooshed me.......

You will never see me under there again w/o a wheel chuck or the the e brake on........

Wow that was crazy! I can't believe you were going that fast too... I thought you were just sliding a little. Damn snow!!!!!!

No, I didn't run into anything, although the whole way down there were serveral big ass rocks that could have caused problems if I was a few inches either way. That loud crash at the end is me slaming the E brake on and it just pushing everything out of the way. It sounds terrible.

As to who was more scared...that's tough. I was the driver, but had no contorl of my vehicle, so that was pretty scary, whereas Lizard was just a passenger, and no matter what he did, he was not in control of his fate. So I guess that side was pretty scary too. At the end of it we were laughing because, to be honest, it was a lot of fun (since nobody got hurt or broke anything). Last night I couldn't get to sleep because I was just thinking of that sensation right after it poped and you just felt weightless there for a split second, it felt as if the truck was pulling me down the hill instead of me just riding in it. Oh well, I can laugh at it all now.

Matt, glad to see you're all right:D

Heh yeah that was fun video taping that... all i could think was "oh yeah this is gonna be bad.." then i decided to get out of the way of the truck. all i gotta say is.... "DAMN THAT SNOW!" :D

I tried to register to that extremeexplorer site, and it never e-mailed me a password.:(

Ahhh snow my old friend, thats not the first time i have seen that happen and it wont be da last i am sure ;)

damn good deal! crazy stuff like that...i got a vid im postin soon of my flooded truck, lol

i'm glad no one got hurt. If you turn the volume up enough, right when you hear the e-brake 'pop' you can faintly hear someone in the truck yell, "OH S*IT" that was kinda funny, lol
