I wish to cap off the coolant line going to the rear heater core on my 2005 Explorer. The lines and connections back there are failing and it's not worth repairing. I'm the only driver and I do not need heat in the third row. I would like to simply cap this coolant line where it comes from the engine. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?

Whenever I've bypassed a heater core on a vehicle I've installed a hose from the out to the return to still allow proper coolant flow.

I don't know but if these Explorers use T's on the same output and input the front heater core uses then it might be as simple as removing these T's and make it like the front a/c only models.
