This one deserves it's own thread. Thanks to Vegastime for the link to the file
Download the Sirius Voice Command Update file, which can be found here: http://www.syncmyride.com/siriuschannelnamepatch/BT4T-14D546-GA.zip

I had a blank thumb drive -
- downloaded the zip file to it,
- unzipped the files to the thumb drive, and then took it out to the Explorer.

Started the Ex, put the thumb drive into the media slot, took about 10 seconds to install the cab file.

Shut off the Ex and waited 30 seconds. Restarted. Sync screen came up and installed the updated.

Then it got a little frustrating. Sirius seemed like it was bricked. But finally, I switched over to FM, and then back to Sirius and it all works fine!!! Hit the button, say "ESPN Radio" and it went there. No more world news.

It works! I now can access BB King's Bluesville!

Thank you MFT team

Worked for me too. Another thing is that now when I browse, it actually browses instead of just sitting on a blank screen saying "loading." Maybe that just a coincidence, but still.

Thank you for making a new thread. I posted this in my other reply but I wanted to say that a blank thumb drive shouldn’t be necessary for this to work. I also forwarded your updated process you went through to make sure.

Groovy, I’m really glad the update worked great for you! Enjoy the blues!

StunnedMonkey, I haven’t heard if the two issues are related but I’ll post if I find anything.

i just had following done and still sirius isnt updated

SYNC Version
Gen2 - V2.10

A. is that the most recent sync update?
B. is there a simple way I can make Sirius work properly as to channels?

Your link didnt work but got it from sync my ride and worked fine had to speak a few channels before all the channel names worked with the voice control.....this should be listed under avalible updates on the sync website when looking at my car, not hidden.. still have v2.4

Is that what it displays on syncmyride.com? My understanding is that 2.8 was the latest version and that 2.10 was for focus only.

What version did you have before and have you noticed improvements?

CORY - CAN YOU CONFIRM 2.10 IS AVAILABLE?

Right click then "Save Target As" should do it.

I have v2.8

Cory...

How come this update does not show up as available on my Syncmyride page? Seems like the whole reason Syncmyride exists is to inform owners of available updates, so why do I have to scour message boards to try to find out what I need to keep my software current?

Same here, it did not show up in my Syncmyride page. Also can not get a confirmation that it had installed.

What file name do you get on your USB drive to confirm the install? Also what file name do you get when doing the Sync Checker?

Were you able to confirm the install? I performed the install but not able to confirm.

It worked!

I downloaded the file, unzipped it to a blank flash drive, plugged it into my running Explorer and it updated. I then shut the vehicle off waited a minute, restated the vehicle and PRESTO all my Sirius voice commands worked.

Thanks for the heads up on this thread.

Worked for me too!

I called Ford support to ask if this patch would address my issue with the Sirius "Browse" feature freezing on the "Loading..." page. They said it wasn't designed to address that issue but I should give it a shot and directed me to the link. I followed the instructions and it DID fix the issue with the "Browse" feature freezing. Now I can finally use the channel guide for the first time since I bought my Explorer in May!

Don't know how I missed this one the first time around, but it's getting stickied :)

Picked up the new x last Thursday, notice I can't browse Sirius, no channels, an voice commands are ify. Reading the thread, I should download which file on Sync myride?

Thanks guys.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread, but the question was never answered which was:

No worries on bringing up an old thread, the bishop. Rebecca is on the boards with the In-Vehicle Technology Team (FordIVTteam) and she would be the best person to look into this, so I sent her your question. :)
