I had a 95 OHV before that I lifted with 33s but I sold it. I HAD to regear it. The factory 3:73s left it with nearly no power. If it got in thick mud it didn't even have the power to keep the tires cleaned out and spinning.
Now I have a 00 Explorer. I lowered it and have 22" wheels on it but I've always missed my lifted EX. I want to lift this one now but I am afraid of trying to re-gear this one. I had a friend that knew what he was doing help on the last one, this one I won't have that option.
My explorer has the 3:73 gears with the V8 and I'm wondering if it will have enough power to pull the larger tires or not. I had a 96 F150 with the 5.0 and 33's and it did great and had plenty of power.
how much will mileage fuel suffer? My OHV 95 only lost about 2-4 mpg until the re-gear and after that it gained about .5 mpg
I already have a set of lift torsion keys for the explorer, how well do these work? anyone using them?
