After 16 years my Explorer finally flunked an emissions test. It blew just fine... Everything well within limits, but the damn gas cap failed!
I drove around the corner to Checker and popped on a new cap. Then I headed back to the emissions joint, sat in line for another hour... and voila. It passed.
Now that the Explorer reached a certain age it has to go in every single year for testing. They don't care that the vehicle only drives maybe 100 miles on public roads every year...
