Hello every one I'm new, I'm here not only to talk about my truck and help others but most of all I am here to find out about a spring I found in my transmission Oil pan!

Here is the back ground...

My truck is a 1994 Explorer 4x4 one owner with 239k miles, well after 239k miles mine A4LD is starting to slip, I removed it from the truck and brought it into the shop. When I removed my Oil pan a little spring was sitting in the pan..

My digital camera is not working however here is a description. It's around 1 to 2'' long, has a very thin coil kind of like the spring in a pen and it's maybe the size of a pencil round wise.

I started thinking it could be a spring from my Valve Body but I don't see were it could have come from, plus if this spring did come from my Valve body why are non of the OEM washers, Boost Valve's or other small parts out of place?

Dose any one have any idea if this is normal for a truck that has never had it's oil pan off or do I need to start looking for a replacement valve body????

Thanks for your help!

That's what I don't get, it was laying the bottom of the pan like some put it in at the factory.

I remember reading about this years ago with a Thunderbird that a guy found a spring in the pan of his 94 Tbird but I can't find any thing to back that.

That may be it! I need to run outside and find out....

We have 7'' of snow so If I don't come back think of me as lost in the woods forever!..

Thanks a ton BrooklynBay! that was in fact the spring I found and it was missing from the place shown in the photos.
