Metric Sizes and Speedo Calculator

A Metric to Standard Tire Equation, not the one found on 4L0.com where it does it for you, but the actual equation. So, I am going to post that and a few other equations that I found on 4Lo.com for easier access. All you will need is your tire and gear info, a pen and paper and possibly a calculator and you can do it all yourself from there. If a mod wants to make this an important thread at the top, go right ahead, I think it would be a wise idea...

Metric to Standard Tire:
(Section Width x Aspect Ratio x 2) + Rim Diameter = Tire Diameter
25.4

Speedometer Adjuster:
(New Tire Diameter) x Speedometer MPH = Actual MPH
Old Tire Diameter

Sweet i think thatll come in use for a lot of people!

good call Brian...

I'm such a loser that....
I have programmed a tire size (metric to inches) converter into my graphing calculator. (That was a boring class!)

good equation formulas.

one thing..... definitely make sure you are using the right values.

when i was shopping for tires, i noticed that the "advertised" tire size is not really the actual tire size.

for example: BFG A/T "advertised 31x10.5
actual 30.7x10.5
*note: the advertised width is for an 8.5" rim only.

-just wanted to add my two cents. whether or not this is miniscule and meaningless, it is still true.
