I replaced my clutch on my ranger last month because when ever i put it into gear, this loud noise (clack, clack, clack) would start. It sounded like it was coming from the clutch. Now that replaced the clutch, i can't put it into gear, and whats worse the noise is still there. Someone told me it could be the slave cylinder that's causing it.could it be the transmission? Please help..I MISS MY TRUCK

Hate to say it, but it sounds like you have two problems. The slave cylinder is probably bad keeping it from going into gear, and it sounds like there is an internal tranny problem causing the noise.

Since the slave is so hard to get to, it's normal to replace it every time you replace a clutch on these trucks.

welcome

I also think that the noise is a different issue because clutches by themselves don't usually make noises, even when one is burnt up. I feel dumb asking you this but did you at least bleed the slave cylinder since it worked before.
