I have a 97 X with SOHC. I replaced my IAC earlier this year. I don't remember seeing or replacing any gasket or O ring. Did I miss something here?

Thanks......Tom

depends on the application. most now i believe have O rings. i beleive they are on the manifold side of the mating surface

gasket

Hey and Happy New Year.

I have a 2000 SOHC 4.0 and just cleaned my IAC last week. I noticed the gasket (an "O" ring like item) installed in the Throttle body (vehicle side) of the system and didn't see a need to replace it.

If you do a search on "IAC valve cleaning thread" you can see in the 3rd pic that the "gasket" is similar to. Overall, that is a great thread.

Have a great 2008 and good luck with your Explorer.

Nosmo
