Let's keep this Explorer Related. If you won it big what would you do to your ride?? Here's pics of what mine would look like.... If you like it and won the lotto it's for sale, $23,000..... In San Diego, I talked to the guy that built it and he'll be doing my cage when it's time!!!!

or if it had to be an x, i would take mine on bags with a mild 347 (maybe 400/450) some kmc thunder 20s and a couple of w7s with jl 1000watt amps and a dvd touchscreen, oh yeah and a brand new plain jane white paint job.

In the immortal words of Camper Van Beethoven:
"When I win the lottery, gonna buy all the girls on my block.....................color TV and a bottle of French perfume........................Uh when I win the lottery, gonna donate half my money to the city, so they have to name a street or a school or a park after me...........when I win the lottery."

Yep, off topic. That is what entered my head tho.:chug:

dag gum it...all i see is red x's...i even tried getting the address from the properties...it's probably this stupid compluter at work.

Pics dont work...

Yeah, I couldn't see the pics either. But I'll go along with the topic and say what i'd do to my X

New paint job (dark green and black two tone), solid axle, fender flares, new leaf springs in back, 35x14.50 mickey thompsons, full roll cage, somehow fit a huge v8, atlas 2, new tranny, blah blah blah...

i could keep goin on all the custom stuff i'd like to do to it also, but i won't :D i've thought about what'd i'd do to her if I did win the lottery, it's one of those topics you can never stop dreaming about...

If i had a million dddddoooooooolllllllaaaarrrs!
Id Be Rich!

well, i believe i said this before, but id keep my X an do a turbo replica of Troll's, and get one more (2nd gen.) and do a mild 5.0 'stang motor swap, full cage, fenders cut all the way up to the body line, and run rockwell toploader's with as little lift as possible to clear 44's. oh, and 3-4 link with coilover's like Rick's...

if i won the lotto, i'd have to say i'd trade the explorer for an expedition, or maybe an excursion, HEY, if i won the lotto why not just have all 3?! heheh

I'd get a 4" Superlift, some 35's, gears, white gauges, a new windshield... you know.. the basics.

If I won the lotto I would continue down the same path with my BII, same plans, just would have ALOT more time to work on her and wheel her, like an extra 40-50 hours a week or so. :)

Oh and I would buy a big as* boat and Excursion.
I would also build a huge barn/shop and all you dude's could come over and we could build some serisouly modified Explorer's.................

Now I just start buying lotto tickets, the POwerball in CO is up to like 63 mil or some crazy stuff like that......

sas....36s new gears...put in 351...custom graphics...TVs...wireless cable...fosgate 34" sub...and 3000w amp for it...the sub would go in a trailor i pull around :) cause that would be one heavy biatch in the back of my truck

For starters I'd have a much more *****in shop with employees other than myself.

Then I would build two buggies.

Number 1)

Full custom tube chassis, 107" WB.
Explorer skins.
351W Fuel Injected built to the hilt.
C6 Auto Tranny prepped by Art Carr.
Atlas 3 Transfercase (Atlas 2 with 32 spline outputs).
Flipped 9" axles with Unimog portals (so they run forward, the gear reduction helps with the strength of the axle).
Front and rear hydraulic steering.
4-links front and rear with coilovers.
Forced articulation on the rear axle.
42x15x16.5 TSLs on Hummer Beadlocks.

Number 2)

Full custom tube chassis, 103" WB.
Explorer Skins.
Small 4-cylinder motor.
Electric generator off the motor.
Electromagnetic drive at each individual wheel.
This eliminates differentials, driveshafts, hubs, axleshafts, tranny, and t-case.
37x12.5x15 Goodyear MTRs on 15x10 beadlocks.

It won't weigh anything, it will be able to turn on a dime, have plenty of power, and have few moving parts that could break.

If I had the money and skills, I would build the second buggy right away and start spanking the crawling competitions.

Hmmm, pics don't work... I'm computer illiterate, still learning. Well click on the link in my profile and click on page two down at the bottom. It's the last three that aren't red... Definately worth checking out!!!! I'm in love with the cage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: pics worked, then didn't, then did, now don't
edit: oh wait, now they do

Okay, enlighten me, how do I get them to work? I posted them on a yahoo photo page, clicked on properties, and then attached them using the IMG button above where I'm typing this reply... What am I doing wrong?

You guys need to see the cage on this Explorer!!!

Cory,
I had a similar idea, but instead of electric motors I was thinking of running hydro-static motors at each wheel. Same basic idea, just a light buggy w/ stright axles, suspension similar to a scorpion w/ air bags and forced articulation and run a small aluminum 4cyl. I think it could work.

I would build up my truck pretty much like Ricks. I wouldnt put on a new front though, I like the older style better.

I would definatley want a D44 front, lockers front and back, and at least 35's. I would keep the inside the same, but add some nice goodies like GPS, overhead console, and a better sound system.
