What a great way to end a great weekend. So i was driveing home last night from my cabin in northern MI. All the sudden i see my battery light come on, voltage gueage dip down, temp guage rise and a huge clunk, thump and a few other noises that i dont even want to hear or describe. My ideler pully siezed up and somehow workd its self lose, fell off bounced off my fan and the belt wraped around the fan breaking almost all of the fins.
Damage result:
* New belt
* New ideler pully
* New fan
* New alternator braket that hold it and the ideler pully(Striped the inner threads)
* New Crank Pos sensor ( Hit by flying fan pieces or belt?)
* And a outragouse tow bill :mad:
All sumed up it was a fan####intastic weekend.

Its bad when call a truck a "Gold Digger" and can really say she takes more money to make happy than a women.

Sorry about your luck. Was it atleast a good time at the cabin?

Yeah had fun on the snowmobiles at least....until i fried a piston and had it towed to the trailer. Hasent been to good of luck for me with mechanical things lately but if i didnt have bad luck id have no luck at all.
Thank god for tax returns.

This weekend- just stay home and sit in the driveway on one of the sleds and make engine noises- you might get funny looks, but it will for sure be MUCH cheaper. :)

Holy crap! Thats a bummer. I had a similar episode with an idler on Taurus - but not as bad. Since then I have been replacing the idlers with the belts every couple years.

lol yeah leson learnd for me on this one. in all honestly i dont think it was changed in the whole 268,x.. miles that are on the truck. Its not aftermarket, still OEM original style.
