Installed 06-08 Side Mirrors

Next question.. where did you get them.. I love the chrome, I planned on ebay mirrors and then chrome covers...but I dunno if the aftermarket ones are as good as OEM.

I got the aftermarket covers on mine, look good, but they sit on top of the mirror and stick out a little, the factory chrome ones look much better, I may get those someday. But when I bought my covers in 2007, Ford had not come out with the limited chrome package yet, that was 2008.

That's not too bad... the stealership wants ~$170 for a set of chrome capped w/Power, heat, and puddle lamps.

Yeah I was dissapointed too.. but I think they guy was just not in the mood to look anything up.. maybe he made up the price or something.

Are you sure? I have a 96 and an 04 and parked next to each other the mirrors are identical except for a design line on the edge on the 2nd gen to match the window trim. Unless the mounting studs are different, I say they might fit.

I know the pigtails are diff, idk about mounting it though.

i little shaving off wouldnt be a problem if it is a little bit bigger..

so the wiring are different? different by connector type or just plain different in the whole wiring component (i.e. less/more wires for motor operation only excluding heated & puddle lamps)

anybody have a broken (broken in two or dangling apart will do..) 2006 side mirror that they want to dispose of? any side will do..

Dude you saved me a bunch of trouble as I planned to pull mine off to compare. Amazing they are close but wont fit. That's too bad as the 1st and 2nd gen guys Im sure would love this mod.

Yup, I tried it on my 97 :
I got 4th gen mirrors for my '02, then since my stock ones came with puddle, I swaped those with the stock non-puddle ones on my GF's 02
So now I have 1 extra pair, and I tought I'd try them on my 97, no luck
