iPhone 4 / Sync issue music stream issue / usb

ive read some on this issue and while my iphone 4 has worked 85%ish of the time streaming BT music, it has up until this point, done it 100% of the time just fine using the usb cable to connect iphone and play music.

now, when i use cable, SYNC says no device connected. whats more alarming, is that one of the usb ports used to charge my phone, now it wont. it will charge my ipod, but wont play it. it will NOT at all however, charge my iphone.

thoughts? suggestions? this is a 2013 XLT. not sure what SYNC version.

is there anything dealer can do such as firmware upgrade or anything?

is the usb port going or gone out? BTW, i have tried 6 different cables. no dice.

I suggest a master reset; if that doesn't work, a trip to your dealership. Here are the instructions for the reset:

MENU > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > MASTER RESET
