Would it be possible to rig up an iPod directly to the factory amp (i.e. headless setup) and use it to play music. I will be getting an iPod touch pretty soon and my after market stereo was stolen about two months ago  , so I've been to lazy/cheap/pissed off to buy another one and have a gapping cavity where it used to be. I think it would be great to just use the iPod instead of a head unit.
I bypassed the factory amp when I installed my head originally, so it's not something I can simply test out. But I'm guessing it wouldn't be too difficult to rig up the correct connectors to some wires and get an iPod signal working. My main concern would be powering up the amp and all that jazz. Anybody know if it would be feasible?

Does anybody have an extra factory head unit they are getting rid of, or is there a place to find something like that on this site? Thanks!!!

Theroretically it's possible, but it's not worth the time. The factory amp is the biggest turd ever. Crutchfield has this panasonic for $100. They work very very well and all you need to plug your ipod in is a 1/8 to rca cable. And no more crater in your dash.
