is 265/75/16 = to 31's

Just out of curiosity what is the equivalent tire size of a 16inch rim w/31's? Is 265/75/16 the same tire size as 31/10.5/15?

For a BFG All-Terrain, a 265/70R16 would be the closest equivalent to a 31. They are both 30.7" diameters. The cross section is a little wider with the 265 (0.2" wider). A 265/75R16 is the same cross-section as a 31, but is taller with a diameter of 31.8".

A 245/75/16 will be the same height as a 31x10.5, but it will be 1.5-2" narrower (I plan to use one as a spare to match my 31's.)

hey guys i have 255/70/16 im my rig now and before i put them on i sat them next to my dads 31/10.5/15 and my 255/ looked a little bigger and a little wider. i know everone says 265/75/16 are the say as 31's. i want to go bigger , and i realy want the 265/75/16 has anyone ran 265/75/16 with 3.55 gears and a 5 speed , i know it will lose power but will it will it be really bad
