Is this a good idea

Well I want to use a Manual Tranny for sure. What slave cylinder are you useing with the NV4500. I would think it would be better to use 5.0 truck parts Ie fly wheel and pressure plate then that out of a mustang correct or are they the same? Since Have the Pedals and reservoir for the clutch it will make it easier to swap the tranny in. :)

Kris,

The 5-speed is the only way to go for sure.
I am using a Ford truck bellhousing, I am not sure but it is the years that used the hydraulic setup. I am using all of the pieces that go with it from Ford but there are proably a few aftermarket parts that may be better.
I am sticking with Ford because of parts availability, when Ford stop making the parts I need I will look into aftermarket stuff.

I would think that a truck with a 5.0L in it would have everything you needed. The jiuce clutch make it easier to set it all up. I have not instlled my resorvior and clutch pedal parts but will shortly, I hope.
Using existing pedals and clutch plumbing will certainly make it easier. When you hook it up, double check the throw of the clutch fork. Make sure it is completely releaseing the disc, before your start the vehicle; unless the rear wheels are in the air. Wouldn't want to see it take off on you. Another thing if you have not already taken care of it; the clutch start switch. This switch is a great idea for not starting the vehicle in gear but for starting the vehicle in gear and on the side of a hill then it is a curse. My vehicle will not have it, I can't tell you to take it off your vehicle but off-roading it may asist you if you do not have it.

Is your Pedals and reservoir for the clutch stock for the Xplorer/Navajo. My setup is from a Ranger, I am hoping it is the same.

my reservoir and pedals are stock. I do have the clutch start switch and do not mine having that hooked up.

Sandy I would really like to see some pictures if you could do that...

I am not much good on pictures, man but I will try to get something together.

well I started gutting the V-8 today. I am Striping the Engine bay of every last wire. I was at it for 2 hours today till the yard closed for the day.

The injector wires are giving some probelms so I will most likely take the upper intake off to get eh rest off. I will need a new throttle body. but every thing elce looks to be in good shape it has stll have the belt on the motor And all AC lines :).

Hey Guys I was looking at my computer that I pulled for the V-8 Explorer. The computer is a bit bent since the fire wall in the Explorer took a bit of Damage. Is there a way to get ford to test the computer to see if it is Ok. Cause if it is bad I am Just going to order a custom computer from Saleen.
