Joining the bandwagon, my 4L OHV build

yea I meant the chain! I realized I said belt after I went to bed. Belt wouldn't be so great either, put the water pump and drain the battery lol

Good to know you personaly tested it with you 422 :p was that the deta rocker issue?
So the cam would have to go over .600. Good to know, now I don't have to worry about it.

So then it may take awhile, it still pours out steam for 5mins. Only if I take the pcv out tho. I took the oil dipstick out the last time for extra help, that steamed quite a bit too.
Yes the camera isn't the best sound wise! Most cameras aren't! It does sound much better in person. Couldn't really tell in the vid but the pushrod tick is periodicly, sometimes its completely quitet. So I think it is that one lifter doing it. The cam in the engine sounds nice when the pushrods shut up lol
Hopefully some tlc with frequent oil changes and synthetic fixes that poor lifter

So that's why I heard you get your foot on it so much, a damn wheelie lol
You should've turned around and did it in front of my house! I didn't get to see it!

Well thats good and bad, means there is probably more water in there than we thought.its just going to take awile.might wanna think about doing the pvc air compressor filter mod to keep all that crap from really dirty up your intake!

I think it was making it dirty. Cause my upper intake had goooy crap in it. Reeked of fuel, but there was what looked like the same crap from the covers, kind of.

You mean those tiny filters autozone sells? I have a red one but it doesn't fit on there. Its to small ID to fit over it and to big OD to go inside it. I'm sure 6you figured out howto make it fit since you have one

so thats why in intake was so dirty. never knew which way the pcv worked. so it was dumping all that crap in my intake. ill deff try adding something like that. i thought you meant a filter on the oil filler side.

should i seafoam at some point? help get this crap out my intake/valves?

yea your intake sucks all the steam or blowbye gasses into the intake to be burned again.really you can put a filter on both sides but the pvc side is where most is sucked up.i would down the road seafoam, after you add a filter and get ride of all the water

ok the one i got was a lot bigger then the one in that thread. couldnt put it anywhere, had to ziptie it to my brake vac line.
warmed up the truck, and all the sudden that filter started screaming! either its loose hoses or it just screams at you. it started around when the thermostat opened up. and it instantly fogged up the canister. did my venting and now its done for the night. took awhile to find fittings to get the filter in, wasted a good 2hrs on that.

ill take a pic of the setup tomorrow, im done for the night

and that damn heater hose is still leaking! i adjusted it and its not stopping. it only does it when the thermostat opens. after taking the ac box out it screwed up. it didnt leak before :(

Some of those filters are only made for compressed air not vacuum, mine was.it sucks air from the drain in it,i had to rtv the drain on mine! Might have pushed the pipes in to far and not getting enough hose on it to clam too,or damaged it putting the box in or out

Drain on the new oil filter!! CLAMP!

ill tighten it, cause i took it off when i bought it just to look at everything, maybe i didnt tighten it enough. lol clamp. i didnt use any cause it was difficult getting the hoses on the barbs as it is, very tight fit. ill put em on anyway then

The clamps on the heater hoses.im saying the drain on the new ojl filter may not shut off when hnder vacuum. Did you get it from homedepot? Some are only made for compressed air not vacuum! !

oh yea, i know they arnt on all the way. i just cant get them back right is the problem lol

i got it from sears. in the thread they said get the craftsman 16008 model one, but all they had was a 16009 model which looks the same but a little bigger.
it seems to work, so if i cant make it shut up ill order the 16008 one from the thread.

well got some news.

first: fan controller came back today, got it in turned it on, turn the ac switch on, NOTHING. im really thinking the 2 wires that go from the controller to the 2 wires off the fan are bad. cause theres no reason it shouldnt be working.

2nd: added my 2nd aux tranny cooler

3rd: heres the pcv filter. i think i found the problem, you can see my pcv isnt seated all the way, and the hose on the filter isnt shoved on all the way. i reworked it to keep the pcv held down and put clamps on all 4 hose ends. now its quiet

Ok il be the one to say it...wow thats big!!! Hahahah yea i would try and get a smaller one!

You should be able to test those for continuity. Check to make sure the pins are all straight in the harness connectors too.

Just curious but what happens if you ground out the A/C wire instead of putting 12v to it?

i tried that when i first set it up. i didnt read and grounded the switch, it didnt register it at all on the controller when done that way. i havent done it since he modded it tho.

ill test the wires, thats really the only thing left that could be the problem

Can't remember if you did this already but are you able to measure 12v if you remove the blue wire and test the switch circuit in series like this?

Battery -> Switch -> positive lead of voltmeter -> voltmeter -> negative lead of voltmeter -> chassis ground

It just seems really weird to me that it is not working at all.

My original offer to take it back still stands if you aren't able to get it working though.

i know both switches work, cause if i flip the ac one i used to get error 2 only when flipping it. meaning it did trigger and try to turn the fan on. so its the 2 wires going to the fan harness is the only thing left.
i cant try nothing until i get home, then ill test those two. dont know why i didnt before
