Jon And Sheri's Vitamin D Wagon

Other than being hot and windy, we made it to big W just fine. 7.1 gallons for 116 miles--not too bad

The 410 gears and 35" MT tires result in 2100 RPM's at 65 mph. The trans temp runs right around 180 on the highway.

All seems good. We even passed a couple of slower vehicles. She drives real nice.

What was the ambient air temp?

Glad you had a nice drive!

Glad to hear it!! U do nice work Jon!!

Well, back home now and it still has all it's fluids. No issues so far. Once the leafs springs are sorted out it will drive even better.

However, the dang fuel gauge messed up again. It is pegged way over full. Looks like my attempt to save the old sender was not successful. considering how difficult it is to get to it I am going to replace it with a new one.

Last time I was in there though, I mangled the internal spring to one of the fuel lines and had to "reform" it to get it back into the little connection housing in the fuel line. The line is holding tight, but I really think it will be ruined by the time I get it disconnected again. I haven't searched yet but I wonder how hard it is going to be to get the supply line from tank to filter.

Any updates? It's highly unusual for this thred to go 4 days with out a post :D

Jon was probably trying to powder coat the whole truck and now he can't figure out why it won't start. Just to proud to tell Us is all.

Or he murdered his top maker and is on the lam.

As soon as I have something good to report I will.

I am not rushing the guy as we are having a severe heat wave. Not to mention he has already set a price and I don't want to mess that up either.

:D

Ok so I got some 2wd f150 leaf packs to play with

I went to

http://www.generalspringkc.com/index.php?p=catalog&parent=35&pg=1

And got some new leaf center bolts, delrin pads and speed clips

Plan is to use the explorer main, and stagger the explorer leafs in with the f150 leafs using the f150 bottom spring. The entire pack should be about 4" thick.

From what I heard, all he has to do is shoot it and park it outside to bake :D

BTW Jon, it's 76* here today, light breeze and the occasional puffy small cloud :p:

You really love me a lot I can tell. :p::D

Ok, we have serious conflict. The bank clock said 107 degrees, the temp in Matt's Mounty said 104.

Dunno how well Powdercoat would cure with 90 percent Humidity :p:

There was ice on my tent and truck this morning at camp on Middle Fork of the Swan!

Ice on my tent--why I oughtta----

another over 100 day with 3 more coming. Boy

The parts I ordered yesterday from general spring, arrived today less than 24 hours after ordering them, regular UPS ground.

Wow.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

It was short lived though. Left about 11:00 am tuesday and arrived at camp tuesday evening. We put together the stubler on the t-case I brought (old t-case had a rear bearing go bad). Yesterday morning I woke up to the cold and the guys put the stubler and t-case back in and tested it. At 11:15 about 24 hours from when I left Newton I headed back for home. Meet some friend in Denver for lunch a Bennets BBQ. Got home 10:15 last night. Out in the heat some of the day to day. Lift kit arrived for Green today right after it broke. Altitude meds arrive yesterday while I was on my way home. If I can get something to run right I'll have meds for the CCR. Took Jr. up to John's to have new lifters installed. Fingers are crossed for the cam not to have a flat lobe and the heads not to have any damage.

But there was ice on the tent and truck yesterday morning.
