So I headed to the junkyard today and got the following parts for $50

Console cover
Rear cargo cover
cruise control switches
hood supports
floor mats
couple of remotes
and 4 ventshades
looking to go back and get a 2" receiver hitch for $50 but they want 100 for a good hood and on the lookout for a 4406 TC and some bigger tires

Not bad

Fun huh? My second home is the local Pull-A-Part. It is addictive for me. You must have found a nice junkyard if you can find floor mats and a console cover in good shape. Iudecent shape. i have pulled two hitch receivers and there they were ~$30 a piece.

The owner was a little pissed when he seen the cruise control switches and said I ruined a 200$ steering column because of it....I dont see how since it was bent lol but anyway Ive had good luck with them they are just picky on some stuff. I usually stuff my pockets full of loose screws, plugs and switches. He has about 20 explorers so Ive got parts for a while

I frequent my local Junk yard so much that they know me by name, the Manager there is actually a building a first gen 5.0L swap off road rig, he always seems to find all the parts I need, and has helped my out quite a few times when I didn't have the right tools.

yeah, i was just saying how i miss living near a pull-a-part. the nearest one from me now is a 100 mile round-trip. with gas prices down, i might just make the journey later this month if time permits. there always seems to be some little part i need that i can't find somewhere else. i enjoy just looking around. i always manage to come home with a box full of stuff.

I tried our local junk yard a while back. It really lived up to its name. I didn't want to touch what they had with a 10 ft. pole.
