well hello there! I drive a 2012 explorer xlt. It needs work and a lot of it so I decided it would be a great idea to join this group.
I made the decision after having issues starting my car and coming to this page for help. Although the issue has not been resolved, it's in the works.
This page seems like a wonderful community and I am very excited to be able to get some things discussed about our cars.
A little background....
I bought my car 3 years ago. It's been good to me with basic upkeep and maintenance, however recently it has come to a point where a lot of work needs done (suspension, tie rods, control arm, etc). I love being able to work on her myself and learn the way around my Ellie girl( hence my alias). As of recent, my girl has been temperamental and being picky about when she wants to turn over. accessory works; ruling out any battery issues, and when she chooses to start, there no stalling or extra noises from the starter.... starts like butter, so ruling that out as well.
I had decided to start with something basic ( but crucial ) to starting a car ~ the key~ and getting the battery changed. It worked! for half a day and then starting acting up again. I am generally in the right direction lol so my next move is getting a new key cut.
Today will be the day we figure out if it's the key.. fingers crossed!!
