Hello everyone, I just wanted to chime in with my little experiance off road. Yesterday, I went to a off road park in Gorman CA in my Explorer. Last time I visited the park, I had the stock tires on my rig. I put 32 inch (265/75/16) BFG KO's on my stock explorer, stock wheels, about 4 months ago but I had never gone off road with the new tires. Many people said it would rub horribly on the trails, let alone the streets. Well with the suspension fully compressed, there was no rub. The only time I heard rub was when the wheel was turned over to lock and suspension compressed. The truck has the 3.73 gears and the loss of power from stock tires was very noticible. I had trouble going up the hills and had to race snails up (V6) By the way, what is limited slip for? I think it is fairly useless for me. For instance I became stuck when I my right front and left rear tire off was off the ground in the obstacle course called the frame twister. The ground was solid hard. Sure I had only two wheels on the ground, but a locker at least on one axle would have helped greatly. I won't even try to find one since in my opinion the 2002's were not made to be wheeled hard, rear IRS through the frame.
