2016 Ford Explorer Limitd
First time here, Looking for answers, hoping y'all can help..

2016 Ford Explorer Limited approx 57K miles.

So here's the deal.. Transmission is leaking. I noticed it when my wife pulled out of the garage today and there was a small spot of transmission fluid on the ground. I've attached a few pics. One of how it looked when I first noticed it. And one after I've cleaned it up and then started the car back up and let it idle. I'm no transmission guy so I'm hoping someone else has had this issue and might know a remedy or can point me in the right direction.

No issues with car, doesn't slip, slam or grind. No abnormal smells, Not throwing any codes. Checked the dip stick and still has the minimal amount of fluid in tranny (could use a tad more). Other than that, the Explorer drives great.

Searched the forum and saw that Mr.Baker had the same exact issue but the thread was limited on info. I reached out to him but the post was in 2021, so who knows if hes still around.
New here, searched forum but cant find any info.

I have not tried to tighten the the bolts up or back them out. I cant find anything on the internet about these bolts on the bottom of the transmission. They aren't just finger tight either.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Forum.
As you no doubt found, there are several threads on transmission leaks. Perhaps someone that experienced the issue may be able;e to help.
Good luck.

May need to drain transmission fluid, and then unbolt that leaky plug and wrap the threads in teflon tape then tighten back up. I bet some of that oil is coming from the PTU intermediate shaft seal as well. Its pretty common leak on these.
