2001 Explorer Sport
My wife would like me to install LED headlights on her 2001 explorer sport. I see they make 9007 LED headlight was just wondering if anyone has used any of these and what there experience it.

I'll also be replacing the headlight housings at this time since she is still on the stock ones and they are super cloudy now so I figure it is a good time to do it all together.

I've used OPT7 headlights in our Forester. The good news is that they produce tremendous light output and there's no real work involved in the conversion like you'd have to do with an HID swap. Unfortunately, they don't produce light the same way as a filament bulb so they aren't really focused well at all. Less light where you do need it, and a lot more light outside of the road surface where it blinds oncoming drivers. Also, of the three bulbs I initially purchased, two have failed in 18 months.

And, any headlight has to be DOT approved to be legal. Fitting LED's to existing reflectors and housings is illegal, and, it blinds oncoming drivers if not properly fitted.
