license plate frame

I got this license plate frame at auto zone on clearance a few months back and I just got around to installing it the other day. It lights up white with the parking lights and lights up red with the brake lights. All I did was tap into the license plate light's wiring for the white light and ground and ran a wire to the brake light and tapped into it. I think it's pretty cool. let me know what you think.

honestly I don't know. The light's are deep inside the center parts that are not lit up. I tried looking into them but you cannot see the lights. I took it out of the box as soon as I got it home and threw it away, but that was over 6 months ago. If I were to guess I'd bet they were LEDs.

I haven't been hassled yet (knock on wood). but if they do I'll just take it off. I drove around for 2 years with two tinted covers on my back plate with red lights in the factory license plate lights and no front plate. didn't get pulled over for that and it way more illegal than this thing is, if it even is.

the reason I bought it is because i got rear ended 2 years ago while stopped at a light and want to stick out more.

As long as you DON"T have red lights on the front and Don't have blue, you should not have any problems.

True, but there is no question that you will attract more attention from the police with this.

If I get pulled over for it I'll just go ahead and take it off. I thought it was pretty cool cause I've never seen anything like it before.

There isnt anything illegal about it. I don't think they will ask you to take it off.
