im sorry but i cant stop myself..............................

o never mind.........try "war" and see what comes up....there....

what will 4" blocks do

It will lower it 4". Explorers have the spring under the axle. The only way you will get 4" of rear lift is with a set of new lift springs. I would get them from Tough Country since that is who your front springs aore from.

sorry didnt even realize they were on the bottom.

could he not get the shackels and add a leaf's and get 4in. ?

He could probably get 4" with AAL & shackles, but with the sag of the old leafs it is going to set about an 1"-1-1/2" lower in the rear.

On second Gen Explorers you gain about 2" in the rear with AAL & shackles with sagging springs.

i got a 92..and with the sag and the procmp AAL coupled with the war shackles..i would say i got about 2.75 inches..but only around 2.25 or 2.5 MAYBE..over stock..i you put the add a leaf in with the wrrior shackles and maybe added a leaf to the pack out of another explorer pack or 2 AAL's you could certainly get 4in..but you'd hav to look into ext. u bolts maybe and extending those brakelines

edit- and ofcourse ext. shocks

see my pack was not saging that bad if at all. i got the full 2in. out of my shackles.

if you go with a soa in the rear and a 5.5 in the front that might be easier then a whole lift i dont know i have never done either

when i got my 4" kit from rough country it can with a small add a leaf, and a big add a leaf, for each side. This gave me 3" of lift. Add shackles to that and you got 4

i lifted my 89 ranger by doing a body lift using 4x4 wooded blocks, and it worked fine, i also have a friend that done the same thing on his bronco 2. and i just finished my 92 explorer by using 4 inch sqaure tubing. just unbolt the body and lift it up off the frame and bolt in either the sqaure tubing or the blocks, and get longer bolts and bolt your body back to the frame.

The thought of wood rotting or splitting apart is damn scarry!!

alli kno its thats some redneck **** sh*t right ther haha..more power to ya but i hope he dont take it out on too many roads..specially with no turns lol..kepe her offroad brother

yea it was pressure treated, but i dont drive it anywhere, it hasnt left the farm since i got it, just used to take back in the woods when its muddy to get fire wood. and i think the law here in illionois is nothing over a 3 inch body lift and im not sure about the sl. this state has the worst laws.
