Even if I did that, the brush guard you get may mount differently and require different dimensions. I made those with a lot of test fitting and measuring before finally welding it together. Not a difficult project and my first welding experience. Took longer than I expected, though.

I completely agree. My manik brush guard has a different bolt pattern. The way I did it the first time was to cut pieces of cardboard out to make a pattern how to fab the bracket. It was cake doing it that way. In a couple days I had to redo mine because of the body lift I just installed.

Oh that leads to my next post!!!

And now I dont feel like im driving a grocery getter anymore. Ladies and gentlemen, after a one week delay on parts I present to you, my lifted trac.

She is rolling on 33s on 15 inch American Racing Baja polished aluminum wheels. Also packing a set of new Rancho RS5000s!

Clean easy spot. only problem is you can put that seat all the way forward. Not a big deal to me. Also those wires for my sat radio are being hidden tmw.

Looks great Challenger!

Any side pictures to show off those wheels better. Chrome and blue look great together.

thanks, im always interested to see how people mount their radios. we've had our jeep JK for a few months now, and i still havent figured out a place to put a cb. here's how i mounted mine in my ST:

Both of thoes CB radios look good. Rebel, I was going to mount mine in the same spot but I could see it getting in the way of my legs. So that worked out. LONO, you have the perfect place to mount it since you dont have the full center console. Looks great.

Now I have a tonneau cover for my trac now. I haven't installed it yet. But i cant decide where to mount it now. I really dont wana go back to my magnet mount. any ideas?

Are you talking about a CB antenna? Im using a Wilson Little Will magnet mount and I can talk up to 50 miles away on my 10 Meter radio. Depending on the skip I can talk further... I wouldnt get any type of whips. The way antennas act with your vehicle, they work best in the dead middle of your trac. When the antenna is mounted the whole vehicle acts as a sort of antenna and with whips you get greater range to the vehicle's left and right and not as much front and back... if its in the middle you get a nice even "Cloud".

My dad is a huge CBer and Ive learned a little bit :) nothing wrong with magnet mount antennas.

well put! yeah figures I didnt re read my post. Ill be letting my buddy borrow my mag mount for this weekend when we go wheeling then i think Ill run it on my truck.

Nice job Dave! Looks good!

I'm 6'6" tall I don't have any issues with hitting the C.B. with my legs. I climb out of the passenger side of the truck when we work at the Food Bank because I park up against the building. Never hit the radio yet.

Mine just seemed like it would have gotten in the way there. No biggie. Meanwhile im still waiting on my alignment to be finished. Tmw and sat I have more work to do like the brush guard, removing the running boards, replacing two valve stems. Anyone think it matters if i leave the running boards on when wheeling. Or does anyone lifted like this find the trailer hitch gets in the way when wheeling?

You're likely to smash the running boards off road. They're pretty strong and dig through dirt fairly well but they ain't moving rocks. I recently put mine back on but they will be removed when I go offroad. The way they attach to the body has me afraid of smashing them and doing damage than just to the bars themselves.

I find the trailer hitch provides a nice slider for the rear bumper and keeps me from smashing the bumper. It also helps with protecting the (soon to go) shackles a little.

Yeah I figured on the running board thing. I understand about the hitch. Hopefully soon ill re make it to fit closer to my bumper to make it look right again.

Oh I like that! Very different! I want with the one from the newer explorers, but so far I've only seen it for $25 and I just can't bring myself to pay that much for it.
