Lifted Sport Tracs Picture Thread!

Yeah I really wish I had known to do this before I had my lift done. I didn't notice how bad mine had deteriorated until after it was lifted and I could really see them. I don't know anything about the brand to use though.

So all this talk of the superlift has me wondering what benefits the Superlift kit has that a SAS/SOA wouldnt... I dont quite understand how exactly the Superlift kit works either. The back looks to be new leafs.

some day when my truck is older, and in need of an overhaul i will attempt a SOA/SAS! superlift always seemed to be too pricey for me, and i dont see how its THAT much better than other options, but if it cost the same as a BL, i would go superlift all day.

A superlift kit isn't really a lift (in the front anyway), it drops the whole front diff, crossmember, torsion bar brackets, etc... JMO.

Any "Lift Kits" for the Trac out there can't touch the strength and flex that a SAS has. Yes you might save some cash up front by doing the Superlift but the IFS setup doesn't like to be lifted, ask Chad, he went through tires every years, balljoints, hub bearings, etc... so you won't be saving anything within the next year or so. The rear is simply lift springs which aren't as good as the factory springs.

Spend the extra money now and build a "truck" and not something you're gonna have to call "The Money Pit".

i didnt think chad superlifted his...

Besides being easier to install and initially cheaper, I can't think of another way it beats a solid axle. If you're just patrolling parking lots, definitely go with the Superlift. If you use the truck, solid axle.

I really need a solid axle...or maybe just sliders. See next.

And my whole problem with an SAS is idk where Id even begin... idk what axle from what to get, what else I need on top of that, how to do any of it. So if I were to do that, Id have to basically drop it off at a shop and say I want a D44, and let them have at it... and its my DD so I cant just do that :\

My oops for today. Didn't take long after putting these back on to do what I figured would eventually happen.:banghead:

What stock step bars look like.

Agreed. It gives you no extra ground clearance. I don't even know what the point of it is. Strictly for looks I guess.

It does allow you to fit larger tires easier, which is what really gives you more lift. It also does raise the frame up higher than without. I'll stick with my 35s without, though, and plan for a real lift with real strength.

Even as a DD you're better off doing the SAS rather then the superlift (parts last longer and you can actually keep an alignment longer then 30 feet after you leave the alignment shop, LOL.

Scope, you need to do some serious reading into Chad's build and in the Offroad Section in general to learn more about the Pro's/Con's of a Superlift vs. a SAS, SOA.

Hugh, I did that the first weekend I had my Trac. Luckily I had the stock bars that had the three skinny brackets that were easily bent back down only to get bent up again.

I brought some big box's from work so I can start making templates for my steel bumpers.

Im not considering doing anything till summer 2013 as the earliest... the price alone for the Superlift really turns me away to start. Ive been trolling Craigslist like yall told me to looking for rims and still no luck but I found a couple D44s in the area with all the gearing and everything still. Not sure which vehicles I should look for D44s from though... :\

Wagoneer, Early Bronco and '78-'79 F150 I believe. Not entirely sure on the years for each of them but I mostly focused on finding the F150 D44s because they are high pinion. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I don't feel like searching.

I found a few worth buying but never with the right timing. Now, I'm going to be talking to my brother-in-law about those D60/70 since he traded in his JK for a Civic.

I feel like the F150 ones would be easier to find too..

remember that scene in wayne's world when wayne goes to that guitar shop just to stare at that fender strat in the case and he's like "one day, she will be mine... she will be mine.." thats me and an sas. many many moons from now, but some day.

Came out of my in-laws house after picking something up and realized how nice everything looks in the spring.

Oooh, King Ranch ST. The King Ranch is definitely my favorite F150. Maybe when the leather goes...

On the other hand, my wife hates my steering wheel cover.
