Lights wont come on

So i've had this problem ever since i've bought my explorer, but when i open my drivers door, the lights dont come on, or it doesnt say door ajar when the X is on. It's pretty much just not recognizing the door being open when it is. Tried looking at the door, where the latch is looking for a switch to toggle the open door, but i think its in this little black piece that hides all the wiring. Btw I have a 2001 explorer sport.

The wiring to the latch could have fallen off on the inside and / or the switch is stuck (most people report this problem and results in the lights staying on). With a stuck switch, people dose the latch with lub..... with the connector, take the panel off and re-attach the connector.
