Livernois Motorsports 2013 Explorer Sport

I don't think there is any good reason to use Sand Mode unless perhaps you are actually driving in sand. FWIW mine does all sorts of odd things in Sand Mode too.

On another note, I think this is a good place to mention my dragstrip results with the 93v2 high boost tune. Only mods besides the tune were a 170* thermostat and gapped plugs. Full weight with 3/4 tank of fuel.

First run was 13.99 with it wheel hopping really bad and kicking out of 1st gear. After that it went quicker and faster every run as air temps decreased. 13.67, 13.61, and finally 13.52 @ 102 with a 2.0 60-ft.

Thank u was that in normal mode with some power brake at the start?

Installed the latest 93v2 Thermostat tune and it feels much stronger than the 93v1 tune. Thank you Livernois. Can't wait to try the High Boost tune and the XV1 tune.

You gotta figure.... Sand mode probably was not designed/programmed with wide open throttle in mind....think about that....

You are welcome. Glad to hear you are enjoying the new tune. I will get that High Boost version sent to you as soon as possible. -Anthony

Any new news on the tune? I am registering in a street car shootout and need the baddest tune available to beat a certain Trailblazer SS...

I think your going to need more than the baddest tune if the SS is any more than lightly modded...

Hey guys we have a 13 Sport the wife drives, i put your 93 PER tune in from day one (spring) love it. Wife does not care lol. I have one problem when i drive it every now and then. I did a WOT take off in sand/mud mode and i belive, 2nd to 3rd gear it went in too like neutral and banging off the rev limit hard for a few sec?? So i called you guys sat and put the new High Boost tune in took out and did the same thing?? Should i not use sand mode? What do you think is going on?? Truck is bone stock, I will pull plugs and gap down. But sure does not feel like it is blowing spark out at all.... only does it at that shift point...

Thank you Matt B 815 289 2555 P.S.Like sand mode with tration off but in a race if truck did this i would get killed and look real dumb lol

Sure would be nice to hear why my suv does this from the people I bought my tune from?

I think it is tune only, but sandbagging is the game at this event.

Sounds like fun. The Xv1 tune is in the final stages of development at this time. We will be posting as more developments become available. -Anthony

Thanks. Are we any closer to the downpipes?

Just wanted to give everyone an update. We have taken delivery of our first pre production sample of the cat back exhaust for fitment tests. The system will be going into full production very soon for sales.

I will keep you posted on the Livernois exclusive down pipes and Xv1 tune as more information becomes available.

I just tuned my 14 explorer sport (93 performance) the transmission is extremely jumpy and I feel like it's holding gears too long. Anybody else have this issue?

Yes are does, but my wife drives every day not me.....lololol
Still like to know why we can not use sand mode? That is the best mode for launching. More power rear wheels, kills that damn tq steer and turns off traction control!!

So you guys are having some of the same issues the Lund guys are dealing with or not quite as many?

Sorry to hear this. The vehicle will take time for the adaptive learning to adjust. If you have just tuned it recently, we typically recommend to give it about a week of normal driving before you decide how you like the tune. If you drive aggressive it will tend to stay shifting and accelerating aggressively. We can modify the tune if you give it some time to learn and still are not satisfied.

Not sure why you would not be able to use sand mode. I have customers tell me they prefer to drive in sand mode daily, with or with out a tune, because it helps with the torque steer. If you are having a problem with running the tune in sand mode send me a PM or email to info@livernoismotorsports.com with your serial number and information. I can look over your tune files and see if we have any updated versions available for your strategy.

Anthony......any closer to releasing the XV1 tune (or updates to the existing tunes)? I'm not having any trouble running the higher boost tunes I received from you a couple of months ago. Just curious to see how much more that can be squeezed out of the Ecoboost, but still be driven on a daily basis.

Are you saying it is safe to run in Sand mode 100% of the time? I don't remember verbatim but in the Ford manual it says not to run in Sand mode constantly.. only use it when needed/applicable.
