LMAO Look what this dumb@$$ did...

thats why so many japanese car companies have stayed away from making trucks and v8's for so long.

as far back as 1991 Lexus (toyota) has made one of the most impressive v-8's to ever be produced. 400k miles lifespan on 70% or better of all ever made. Just shy of 300 HP. completely non-interferance. People snap timing belts on them and just throw a new one on and keep driving.

Ask Stephen.

exactly my point, ford made their first V8 in 1932, nearly 60 years before. They just don't use trucks in japan like they do in the US, not to mention the difference in the cost of gas. Its getting so bad the japanees now grow their oil/fuel on trees.

We could sit here all day and argue whether a toyota engine will really last that long or not but its pointless cause its all hearsay and everyone has their favorites. The important thing is to keep and open mind and remember they all have their down falls.

Damn right thru the glass and into a pole:eek: What the hell was the person thinking?

Be careful of what you buy on a car lot, I spent a few years selling cars and have sold many a nice car to someone after me and all my salesman buddies trashed it. I took a mustang gt out one night and was driving the piss out of it then all of a sudden i saw nothing but smoke behind me. I drove like a bat out of hell to get back to the dealership. Got it back and popped the hood and there was coolent all over the place, I was thinking head gasket or something. Turned out that the lower radiator hose came off, ahhhh got lucky.

dumb kids. gotta give it to him though. he's got taste.

Hey, Nick K. Why don't you bring your hot rod jap crap to Dallas. I have a new Cobra with 560 hp and tq to the wheels. Or if that scares you to bad I have a friend who has a Lighting or for people who don't know a ford F150 that weighs 4700 lbs. That makes 585 hp and 625 tq with stock internals and it won't void the warrenty.

Bring It:D

I would be more than happy to do a slalom.

Cool, I have a buddy with a shifter cart. It has a 500cc 2 stroke and 4 gears:eek: !!! Let me know when you will be coming into town:D .

Oooohhhh, do I hear a race coming on? I'll be there too with my 1992 Ford Explorer...it has a tornado!!!;)

(actually, I hate those stupid tornadoes) :D :D

I thought you wanted a Ford VS a Subrau

I thought you wanted a Ford VS a Subrau
Hey, my Explorer is a Ford!! :p :p

All kidding aside, The WRX and other Japanese sports cars are pretty good, but there is no replacement for displacement. That 560 HP stang would be awfully hard to beat! (except against my X...Man, I just won't that go...:afro: )

I didnt know the deallerships were now drive through..

Hey nick nice truck. The picture with the rocks, Forest Closed signs, are those taken at Mahwah?

No actually I have never been to Mahwah, this sunday will be a first. those were in the Freetown/Fall River state forest in Mass, which I will now stop attending after getting a $250 fine. Mass sucks for offroading!

OK guys, I realize this thread wasn't created to debate rice vs american, but come on. do all of you realize that this is boosted hp and to get it your almost always above 4 grand mark...even on the street. my mustang kicks in it's power at about 2. and for those debating the hp in that car vs a v8 explorer... the 302 is virtuall untapped for potential from the factory. it can handle approx 400hp and a call to edlebrock can get you really close if you want it, but do you really need it??? which of you really wants to race your explorer all the time??? me... I'd go 02 cobra or 92 5.0 hatchback... problems with rice rockets? just go twin turbo with a dart block. then see which engine shines. remember, you can do a 9 sec quarter mile in a street legal v8 a lot cheaper than keeping a 4 street legal to go that fast.

i'll bring it- where is your stang located?

i love my explorer and i love V8 american power and prefer it over anything else, but its time for a reality check.

Well said Expo5.0. I am not a fan of rice at all, but that is limited to these punk ass kids with 6 inch tips, and huge wings. There is nothing wrong with a well done import.

Any respectful 500 would be a 6 speed.
