Out offroading in the desert and the dash went out as well as did the tailights. Brakelights work fing, blinkers, headlights, everything, just lost the dash panel and the tails. Radio works no problems electicalwise anywhere else. ANyone have any ideas? Checked the fuse box under the steering wheel seemed fine, Im stumped with this, thanks for the help guys.

just a an idea but if you doing some wheeling out in a bumpy rough enviroment then you could have dislogged one of the 2 big connectors on the back of the dash guage cluster. they feed power and signals to the cluster ...try sticking your hand behind the dash ( tight fit ) and see if you can grab hold of one of them and wiggle it to see if it's loose.

also have you checked ALL the fuses and relays ...even under the hood ?;)

hope this helps

i lost my dash lights not to long ago, there's a fuse under the dash, check all those and see if one is busted.

a few years back, i had a full size bronco. thing just lost its tail lights, dash lights, and driving lights int he front, but still had working headlights. ended up tracking it down to a faulty light switch. sounds like a possibility for you also.

sounds like thats a better idea come to think about it ...good one

On our '92.. we kept loosing the dash lights (and tail lights).. In our case the fuse kept blowing...

I started by disconnecting the plug in the back between the main harness and the liense plate light.. problem fixed..

Years later it happened again.. This time I found a short in the brake light assembly.. Thats where they hooked trailer wires too and one of the wire was shorting on the body..
