the lumbar support has a horizontal metal brace that runs along the back of the seat it has come loose does anyone know how to repair it or had this trouble with their's? also i have a bad cat, i would like to replace it with an aftermarket one that sounds a little better than the factory with a new muffler, i live in michigan so i have to keep within the laws,( i'm the only one that works on the truck) i would like some advice on what to get.

Can't help with the lumbar question, but how many miles on your Ex? The catalytic converter in my '97 was covered up to 80K miles so if you are under the mileage and have the same warranty, let Ford pick up the tab. Otherwise it does give you an opportunity to replace it with a higher flow converter for less than Ford wants for a factory one. Check with some of the speed shops or muffler shops.

thanks for your reply. when i bought the truck it had 37k, now i have over 100k, but the truck still looks like the i picked it up at the dealership.as for the lumbar support i have tried to remove seat cover to inspect the problem but it looks like i need lessons in sewing.
