Not much info but a seller has a 1998 explorer with a manual 5 speed transmission! Never heard of one. Anyone out there ever come across one. Thanks, Stretch

The manual trans was available in gen 1 and 2 Explorers and a few 2002 gen3s.

Hi Stretch. I have a 2nd gen 5 speed XLS and love it. Almost 140k miles on original trans and motor and plan on at least another 100k on it.

How many miles are on the one you are looking to buy? How much is the guy asking for?

My buddy has two 98 sports with 5spd and one is 2wd! For now anyway :-)

Its a 1998 XLT 4WD and he is asking $2500.00, has 154,000 on it. Thanks for the replies, not much in the search on manual trannies. Stretch

IMO 2500 is a bit steep... Unless he was extremely **** about this rig I would offer him 2000 cash tops if you are serious about buying it.

I also like the manual trans. Makes driving fun
