The overhead map lights are inoperative as a result of deterioration of the electrical conductors in the mounting assembly.
The bayonet-style bulbs turn into place, forcing their pins into contact with a layer of copper in the mounting assembly. Over the years this copper strip has been worn down and broken. (Not surprising, since it is about as robust as a 99-cent string of christmas tree lights).
I can;t figure out how to remove the entire map light assembly so I can solder or glue the electrical connections back together.
