If you want to widen the rear that much you better be ready to cut a lot. Going to have to cut out a BIG chunk of your quarters

Most any 4x4 shop will carry at least a couple brands of coil-overs. Big brands are Fox, Sway-a-way (SAW), King, Bilstein

Thanks for the info Robb. That helps out a lot. Hmm, maybe I should build a ramp.

Just fyi, the Zuk I posted a pix of scored a 961 on a 23° ramp.

The rims i am getting will have major backspacing on them to further my wheelbase. If anybody has anysuggestions let me know.

Wheelbase is the measurement from front to rear, not width. Wide rims and full width axles will give you a wider stance and more stability but you are going to have a tough time covering your tires for street use and fitting on the trails.

Coil-overs all run about the same, depending on size. a 2.5" coil-over shock with 12" of travel will run you just under $500/ea. plus coils. Most serious 4x4 shops carry or can order these.

I scored right below 600 (30 degree ramp) on an RTI w/ my TTB about a year and a half ago with a bunch of buddies at an offroad event. It was front and back avg. I did beat a XJ so that proves certain setups on any rig can "ramp flex" better, but he was lifted 4-5" where my truck has 10+. I'll also admit to cheating in some people eyes, tires aired down to 10psi and my heavy toolbox was in the drivers side rear corner of the truck to keep that weight over that rear wheel as much as possible. That really helped keep the wheel down.

Gloria Zimmerman does claim to have an 1100 RTI 1st gen and based off the pics I've seen on and off of this forum I think that truck is sick!!!!

1100 on a 20 degree ramp...

I got some 5.13 gears now I cant decide whether to go with super swamper 38s or 39.5s any ideas

With the stock TTB up front?!?...stick with 36s tops unless it is not gonna be wheeled at all.

the axle will handle for a few months but this summer its going solid(Dana 44)

im pretty sure that axle wont hold up for a few months if your gunan offroad this thing, i thing parts will jstu snap, But hey, try it out and let us know

PEACE

Yeah, you definately won't go very long with the TTB and 39's. Even with a D44 would be pushing it if you go wheeling with it.

about the only way your gonna wheel 39.5's with a D44 is with either warns/CTM's or the new Ox axles that are supposedably stronger than stock D60's (i have seen no real world testing done yet). either way you're still sorta pushing it.

I was just reading about those OX axles today. I'm looking fwd to seeing more, especially for the D30. I have experience with the OX U-joints and they are awesome. I like them way better then CTM. I installed a set on a D44 with Warn alloy axle shafts that is running 4.56s and an OX locker with 38.5" Super Swampers in front of 400hp. Not had a problem yet.
