What is the max tire I can fit on a TT lift and add-a-leaf lift. I'm planning on the 2" rear leaf and around 1.5 on the front. I have 16" rims, so the sizes are all weird. Can I fit a 285/75/16? That equals a 32.8" tire. Is it possible, or is the 275/75/16 the largrest I should go.

Not sure, have you checked Explorer FAQ yet. @ bottom of page

I already checked that... It's gives sized for stock tires that would work (31") but then all it says is that you can do a TT or body lift and get larger tires under the body of the X. It doesn't give any sizes.... Who has the TT? What are you guys running?

Thanks for any info

i have the TT/shackle and i am running a 31X10.5 R15 it looks that i could've put a 32X11.5 with slight rubbing, but the 31's do not rub at all.

I know it isn't 16 inch rims, but it gives you an idea of overall tire height.
Specs for my 31X10.5R15 are

Overall tire diameter: 30.5"
Overall width: 10.5"
Tread width: 8.1"
Tread depth: 15/32

Hope this helps you out somehow or another!

I am running a 265/75R16 tire. This is the equivalent of a 32x10.5 tire. I was running these stock for a while before I got my add-a-leafs. Hope this helps.

32 1150 on mine

Arent 265's 31's? Because my suburban has them, and a friend with a 4runner has them. Maybe they have 265/65....

i just did the TT and the Shackles. how did u guys end up with 2 inch at the rear? i only got 1 1/2. the front, i got extra 1 1/4 from TT. the driver side nut is already all the way in, but the passenger side still has a long way to go. is that normal?

My driver side is all the way in, but my passenger side has about 1".......correct me if i am wrong, but i think they all are like that

I just fit 33x12.5 on my explorer. I had to do a little triming inside the fender well, and I won't take it offroad until I've got my body lift on, but for the most part they fit. And I've only got 1.25" in the front. As far as my torsion bolts go, they are both just about the same on both sides

Jefe,

Just curious, your left front looks different? Did you remove the bumper or did you have a little trail-body work done? :-) Great looking Explorer, by the way.

Adam,

Yes, I removed the bumper trim and stock fog lights. It hangs way too low for 4x4ing. Now I just need a nice steel bumper with a winch. . :)
