Max Tire Width

I want to run 33" AT tires on my stock 16" aluminum wheels on my 99 X Sport. I plan to do the TT and Shackels, as well as a 3" body lift. My question is, what is the max tire width that i can run keeping close to a 33 diameter. If they are metric that is fine, but i would like to be around 33 inches in diameter.

on my 96' 4x4 xlt i have the 3'' body lift and did the tt and shackles,but my rims are 15". The biggest/widest tires i could get were 33x10.5x15 i believe...

Uhhh.. I ran a 12.50 on mine with the same setup.

I had trimmed already from trying to run 32s with just a TT. But I probably could have ran the 12.50s with none/minimal trimming. There's a lot of trucks on this site with that setup and a lot of them look too nice to be trimming their fenders. :

Why does the height of the wheel matter? 33x12.50x20 will be the same width as 33x12.50x15.

u said "uhh i ran 12.5 on mine"...but you have a 16" wheel, i have 15" wheels. all i was sayn is i think the max on a 15" was 10.5 when wanting to run 33''s...correct me if im wrong...

LOL, I don't ever listen to anything the guys at the tire places tell me. Most of the time they just don't feel like doing what your asking about.
