so ever since i purchased my 2001 ST (a few weeks ago), it felt to me like it was acting a little sluggish to accelerate. Today, I stopped by the post office and got out to check on the transmission dipstick and noticed it came out very easily. Either way, I checked it to make sure it was clear and it didn't have a burnt smell. Afterwards, I put it back in making sure it was in all the way. Not sure if this was some sort of coincidence, but all of a sudden it felt like the ST had more power. So the question is, if the transmission dipstick was not put in securely, could this affect power in the transmission? thx in advance

Not that I know. You'd be the first I have heard this happening to. Honestly with the trans also being controlled by the computer it adapts to parameter changes. If the engine acts up the shifting changes accordingly. Maybe your computer ran a full cycle notice issues and changed the trans control?

just out of curiosity, do you refill the transmission through the tiny dipstick?

you can "pre-load" the pan but it usually sloshes around and makes a mess before you get it bolted up. the cleanest way is to tube fill it
