Hi Guys..... I'm new here.... so hopefully someone can help.....?
Been working on my wife's 2000 Explorer. The other night her head lights quit working.
They come on holding back the arm...but go off when arm is released.
I installed a new multifunction switch tonight..... no difference.
Noticed the smaller plug in on the switch is a little melted.... but internal contacts still appear to be intact. I don't have a meter.. (and don't know how to use one) Do have a test light.... Any of you gentlemen ever been down this road....?

Fixed!

Well.... would have been nice to receive even one response.... but oh well... figured it out on my own. Thought I would post in case someone else runs into the same problem. I ended up splicing in a new plug in/harness into the Multifunction switch. Still no headlights. Finally changed out the actual headlight switch.... and that worked. The switch showed no signs of being damaged... never got hot... and turned perfectly... just never let the power through.

Sorry you did not get an answer, but thank you for posting the fix. I am sure many here appreciate it.
