Moab 2003: October 24-26

I'd love to do Eliphant Hill, but I am most likely going alone and with my Narcolepsey I couldn't handle the drive to and from the trail. Thats the reason I've been trying to suggest trails closer to town :D That's also why I'm not all that interested in doing Top of the World again this year (that and I did it twice last year).

What does everyone think?

Elephant Hill :bounce:

I really liked it last year. All in all I really don't care - they are all great.

Mike I'm sure we could get you a DD if you needed one.

I got my front end torn apart today and tuesday its back together with the new ARB inside :)

I just want to get out and do some trails and I don't even care what they are :) I have done fins and things like 3 times this year though :( I am just looking forward to wheeling with the explorers again. I just can't wait till OCT. 24 :(

elephant hill would be really cool, and mike i could have my sister ride with you, i guarantee you wont be falling asleep.:D ;)

Clint, does this mean you are volunteering as the trail leader for Friday?

Does your sister know you are pimping her out?

If the group wants to do Elephant hill on Saturday I'll add it to the itenery.

 that isnt exactly what i meant:eek: when you meet her you will understand... she talks a lot:D

elephant hill saturday sounds like a plan... now what to do sunday?

BTW geralds suggestion that my truck is a superstock seems about right. i want to have a good time, not spend all day dragging my frame trying to keep up with the big dawgs:p Rolling with the stock and superstocks will still be cool, ive been to moab once for about 4 hrs, so this will be my first real trip, so all runs will be new to me.:exp:

Here's another idea to throw a monkey wrench in and think about. I believe all of the BigDawgs have already gone to Top of the World, most of us several times. Is it that important to try Rose Garden Hill? If we blew off doing that on Sunday, that would leave Sunday to do Metal Masher and whatever else we get in the mood for, and still have Saturday to spend all day on Golden Spike or something else - there's lots of possibilities (none of us have run Flat Iron Mesa yet, so there's yet another possibility). The point being, if we forget about spending all day to take yet another Top of the World trip, we could do lots of other stuff instead.......

Just a thought, I don't care, I'm going wherever everyone else wants to go, but what do ya'll think?

goliath, this has potential :) This is the perfect girl for Mike, likes to go 4xing and talks a lot. I think we may have another blind date hook-up :)

Ok more Moab pics to get you excited :)

I put E-hill on the itenery for the Saturday Superstock/Modified run.

Oh yea: Clint - :p

Hey everyone. Is it too late to sign up? I've always wanted to do Elephant Hill.

Sweet I'm signed up. Did anybody say they were going mountain biking down there. I'm pretty sure me and my dad will bring our bikes and do a trail or two. If anyones interested in getting together let me know.

you're going to bring your mountain bike on a explorer 4X4 trip! naw just joking, I'm just glad to see you signed up.

It looks like I might still be able to make it:D I will know for sure in about a week. Soon as I do I will register.

HEY EVERYONE! WAKE UP! ONLY 4 WEEKS TO GO!

Com'n Kev, you can make it!

Where'd everyone go? BigDawgs..... what do you think of my idea I posted a few posts up to forget about doing Rose Garden Hill/Top of the World in order to open up other opportunities to run other trails? We could do Golden Spike again Saturday (backwards?) and then Metal Masher Sunday instead of Rose Garden Hill/Top of the World,..... maybe?

I'm looking forward to this. This will be my first wheeling trip in 3 months or more.

Wanna know what's really cool? Char and I are leaving on a 10 day vacation this week and we're spending our time in Utah :D No Explorer just the Dodge and our two feet. We plan on checking out Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, Kodachrome basin etc. A week after we get home it's off to Moab for more Utah color!

Gerald I am very interested in your plan to do GS backwards and metal masher. I have yet to do these trails and would love to cover them. I can't wait to go I'm planning on taking a little trip to 21rd here in CO in the next couple of weeks to test out all my new mods. Well I'll talk to ya later.
