Moonroof - was it an option?

There should be an interior cover for it. It latches in the front and screws in the rear. If you get it (and it doesn't have a cover) and want a cover and the interior is tan I'll give you mine for shipping costs. I don't use it at all.

I've never had any problems with mine in my '92.

The Explorer I'm interested in does have a tan interior (forest green paint) so I most definitely will take that up if mine is missing/damaged. Thanks a lot!

bluexpy: In response to your question about how much light do these block: Without the cover: None. It's just a lightly-tinted window. The covers are solid (plastic?), so when they are in place, they block 100% of the light.

Don (cdw), I have a gray cover (at least I think it's gray). I've never taken it out of the storage case since I've owned the Explorer (since 1999), so it may well be in mint condition. I'd be happy to part with it, it's not like it's going to hurt my resale value at this point (275,000 plus miles)... :)

Mike

Thanks Mike, I sent you an email to ask about the cover.

So I went and found it in the shed. It's got a grease stain on it, which I'll try and get out. It's still yours if you want it.

Hold on that one - I'm going to look at it this Saturday...I'll let you know if I brought a huge plant pot or not by then. :D

I just got my truck and washed it with my pressure washer...not a drop of water inside. I sure could use one of those inside covers too. Same color.

Take the cover out and spray it with a little engine degreaser on the bad spots. Spray the rest lightly with an upholstery cleaner. Then spray it off clean with a water hose, let it dry, clean as new.

Awesome!

I'll let you know by tomorrow evening, Colin. I finally get to look at it tomorrow. Can't wait - hope this one is a gem.

moonroof

Hey,
I have a '94 E.B., and the moonroof has never leaked on me - although the metal around it is all corroded on the outside.

Any ideas on where I might be able to find one of those covers for the moonroof? I have a tan interior. I've checked junkyards to no avail. It'd be awesome to have one, since the winters here in the upper peninsula of Michigan are harsh, and all the heat seems to go out of the moonroof.

You can take FROADER's he was offering to me. It seems like the owner sold it to someone else or changed his mind; I can't get a response out of him lately. So I decided to give up on that one.
