More of the same... well slightly different - O/D light Falshing - Please Help!

Hi Imp,

Sorry about taking so looong to get back here. Things got crazy around me lately.
So, I did change the fluid, but only partially. I drained and filled the tranny three times and was happy with the result. I've also decided to keep the solenoid module. The car ran fine for over 1,500 miles. The thing that I had some problems here and had to sell the car. I still got my 1996 Explorer though. Too bad the 2002 in gone, I really liked it....

Thanks a lot for all your help.

You are most welcome! Appreciate your coming back to tell. And I feel good my ideas occasionally work out......imp

I have a 04 explorer 4x4. I had it flash like this once and then it went away. It could be your solenoid, but have you check for the PCM. My brother n law looked at mine, and the synopsis is below of my ordeal:

about 3 weeks ago this happened. Had diagnostic down and the following codes came up. P01789 TCS(transfer control switch not set properly) P0735 Gear 5 Ratio incorrect. My bro-n-law suggested PCM(Powertrain Control Module). I took it to the dealer, they said it passed the electronics test, as codes were reset (Mind you I took it two weeks later). They also said it barely slipped so they suggested solenoid $1K and/or overhaul tranny. I didnt like that option, so I looked for a second opinion. 5 days later Check Engine light comes on, and took it to Autozone for the free diagnostic, and the code was P0193. This is a fuel related problem, but first choice was PCM as reccomendation by the computer. When researching PCM, it causes the follow problems: fuel economy, fuel injection, and shifting issues to name a few.

I would start there.
