I am new to the forum and in fact new to my 2000 explorer XLT 8 cylinder which my son has just given me. I being retired am looking forward to fixing the little things I have found broken, not working and needing replacement. I am not mechanically inclined but have no fear of trying and asking help. So far I have researched the site for replacing the on off and cruise control switchs ,purchased the replacment parts and am ready to make the switch. After much research on this site I am confident I can make the fix successfully. I have also found the fuse box and changed a blown fuse for the cigarette lighter and now my cell phone can be charged .Stop laughing I am just being honest. My new problem is the trim above the door on the front passenger side door. The plastic male clip on the trim is busted .I believe the trim part is called a A PILLAR INTERIOR TRIM.? Can anyone advise me if I must replace the entire A PILLAR TRIM or is there another way outside of supper glue to repair the trim and get it to stay in the female trim insert. Am I making sense with my description ? If I need to replace the whole trim can anyone guide me to where to get a replacment part with out blowing my small social security income. When I got the explorer the first week the front end started grinding like crazy and it cost me $550.00 to replace the front upper and lower ball joints .This explorer has 140000 miles on it but the previous owner was a army officer and really kept it mechaniclly in great shape so I feel like it will serve me for a few years until age gets the best of me. All your help would be greatfully appreciated ..G-d bless ,Bullstone
