My accident in my '92 Eddie

I sent her the receipt for the recent brake job and I may also send the receipt for the Crankshaft position sensor, which just started to act up this weekend and cost $140 to replace. She said she would get back to me on if they count on ther value. Now I may need to find the receipt for my aftermarket alarm/keyless entry/remoter start. This issue will hopefully be resolved within the next few days or so and then I can now go out and look and some replacement vehicles.

One quick question, I have flowmaster exhaust and aftermarket speaker in all doors that were put in about a 1-2 years ago. would they be laible for these things as well, doubt it.

This is awful man. That's a beautiful Eddie. It wasn't a 5 speed stick, was it?

No, it was an automatic.

But to add to my frustration, the other night when I was down in the city the tail pipe section of my flow master exhaust disconnected from the rest of the cat-back and started to bang around. I had to remove it down by NYU to prevent it from being damaged and it is now in my cargo area until I have to reconnect it. I believe that the stress from being hit caused the flange to break. If that wasn’t enough because of all the wind we have been having while driving home last night on RT. 22 a tree that was hanging over the road nearly took out my windshield.

All right now I am kind of frustrated, I received a call form the total loss examiner this mourning and for the keyless entry, remote start and alarm they are only willing to cover like $30 bucks of its value. And also for recent work which was just done that totaled over $500, they are also only offering something like $30-$50 bucks as well. Their estimate for the value of my Eddie is something like $2500, which is not going to cover a replacement X around my area. KBB value depending on private party or retail value is $3050 & $4730, and Explorers in similar conditions that I found on the net are going for more then $2500. According to their Local Market Comparable Vehicles sheet that they sent me, there is not one Eddie listed out of 11 vehicle all of them are XL & XLT's: And these Vehicles are all in Upstate NY about 6 hours away from me. So I called them with this information and still waiting to hear back, what do you guys think?

IMHO, you are pretty powerless as to what they offer you. They get handed down what to give you, it's not them making it out. They look it up on the computer, take pictures and wait for a higher rank to give their opinion. Good luck though.

I'd call your insurance company and explain the situation to them... Asked them how to negotiate with the other insurance co in reaching a fair price...

Still trying to reach a value on my Eddie with the insurance company, I feel their offer was not fair so I am still in negation. They offered a little more but not much so I just called and left a message on what I believe may be fair offer considering book value, recent work done to the car and any inconvenience I have had to deal with. If they reject this I could rent a car for $125 bucks a day (NYS charges this because of my age) and they would have to reimburse me. So I will let you guys know the end result.

After some more negotiating it looks like a may get a little more then $3000 but so far nothing is final. Should hopefully have things finalized by this afternoon which mean I can now go shopping for a new X.
