2006 Mercury Mountaineer
So I have a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer premiere with white trim. It has 140000 miles on it. It recently pulled a P0101 code and the AWD sensor came on. When I first start driving it wants to slightly lunge forward and then it drives fine until I drive uphill or I reach 50 to 60 mph and then it wants to skip gears and lunge. Sometimes the code lights come on and sometimes they don't. The lights are a wrench light and a car with wavy lines. I truly hope I don't need a super expensive transmission fix. Is it an easy fix? Also my AC unit doesn't have a high enough output to be sufficient enough to cool it down. Can I add the refrigerant myself or do I need a garage to help me do it? Thanks for any advice or tips.

You mcould also have abs problems. I have heard of the rear tone rings cracking and causing similar problems. But start with the maf sensor. The ac I would take it to a shop unless you know what you are doing.
