This is my first box. It's not carpeted yet,but I think it turned out pretty well. I'm piecing the system together. So it's taking me a while to get done. Please, tell me what ya think.

I like it, it looks good. The wires should be not seen with that setup, and thats really nice.

Let us know how it sounds. I have been thinking of a down firing box myself.

looks good for your first one.

id recommend your 2nd one be ported though. sub up, port back

Looks good, but isnt the box a little large for those speakers?

i like it. it will be a nice clean install. look at the names in the sub box thread. there are some really knowledgeable guys here!

You had better "PORT" that box...

Looks good.

I'd run that sealed for SQ
The down firing characteristics call for this. It will sound great!
I like it quite a bit.

My first Sub ever was in 1980--a big coffee table box with a down firing 18" dual voice sub--
I was kicked out of several apartments--:D

You might consider allowing the pressure waves out the other side (underneath-toward the front) also. If not some will collide and cancel each other out--I'd consider a vent hole behind the seats--
Also-if your drivers were firing to a rigid surface it would better-just a piece of MDF for a "floor"

Not you. Never. AHhhhhhhhhh lol
Thats great jt.

The box looks great for a first build.

I myself am planning a new build. This one might involvo 4 15's. Not sure tho...

Pink Floyd
Welcome To The Machine-

putting a vent firing forward is a horrible idea in an explorer...and nearly every other vehicle aswell. very little cabin gain to be achieved that way

Down firing boxes are a terrible idea from the start due to cancellation issues, especially without sound deadening. In a nice, open cargo area like we have in our Splorers it's very easy to build a box without the size constrictions that call for a downfiring box (think Jeep Wrangler).

Thier is a "dead" space area in the middle of the box. I didn't want a ported box. This is mainly my wife's rig. I built it that way so had plenty of room for the amps. Also, because I have a dog. So he can't get to the amps or the subs. I didn't want to take up a lot of room. It is the family car.

Looks Nice Get an alarm system b4 someone steals it i had a box and 2 audiobahn q flames stolen out of mine. Latez

looks pretty sweet..keep us updated for the final product

Just dropped the box off to get carpeted. Should have pics posted in a couple days.
