My Ford Touch/Sync

Anyone from Canada having a prob with MFT. Everyone I have spoke to here in New Brunswick that has MFT has not had a problem.
 






My Limited is a mid-November build. No issues. Prior to delivery to me in February, when I purchased, the MFT was updates to version 2.4. For the most part, it's been fine.

Last week, I had the truck in for the update to version 2.7. At first they wanted to charge me. I expalined that FORD has come out and stated updates are no charge till ealry 2012 (how many updates do we get for free???? One? All of them? Good question). I did not get charged.

I also do not see any differences or improvements with version 2.7.

The update wiped-out all of my stored "Favorites". All 50 of them. Not happy about that.:( A lot of other settings had to be re-set too.

Yes, I have the same issues everyone is having. Although after v2.7 my iphone doesn't disconnect anymore. Anxiously awaiting v2.8!

I have a problem with the display not being calbriated properly. Meaning that I have to touch above an Icon to get the function to work. This is an issue with the two top corner functions also. Have Gen2 v2.8. Most Touch Screens have a way to do a calibrate to ensure that you are on top of the Icon.

Hope the dealer can get it fixed with a simple calbration of the screen.

Anybody know how the Sync tech performs maintenance on the system, via a laptop hooked to a usb port or via the touch screen.

When you buy software you would expect it to work. Most software vendors provide updates to their product to correct the BUGS. In my case I bought Gen2 V2.8 of which I would expect upgrades to Gen2. However if Gen3 is introduced with all new functions then I would expect to puchase it if I wanted to take advantage of the new functions.

Are you going to keep buying software until they get it fixed? Would you keep buying lemons if they are bad every time? Where does the lemon law come into play here?

Also have a problem with pairing my Sony phone. Connects OK, loaded the address book OK, cannot talk through the Sync. I may have to put my phone in the Hands free Mode. Any other ideas?

I believe that Ford will stand behind their product, that not to say that some dealer may take advantage of you.
